Football or soccer is by far the most popular outdoor sport in the world. The date of the origins of the sport dates back to the 19th century. The Football Association in England became the governing body of the sport. Football is played in a rectangular ground, between two teams having 11 players each. The objective is to put the ball across the goal by kicking and dodging all the defenders as well as the goal-keeper. The winner is decided on account of the goals scored by each team. The total time duration of a football match is 90 minutes, which is divided into two halves of 45 minutes each. Football is a physically demanding sport because one has to constantly be in pursuit of the ball and sometimes be a part of ugly tackles. Stamina, agility, body strength and skills are the attributes which make a good footballer. The difference between a good and a great footballer is parted by the polishing of skills and endless practice.
